"The Elysian Quartet's enthusiasm for all kinds of music has resulted in a repertoire of exciting and diverse works, embracing classical, contemporary and electronic pieces, as well as new commissions and collaborations. The Elysians have worked with artists as diverse as 'human beat-box' Killa Kela, jazz pianist Keith Tippett and experimental electronic composer Simon Fisher-Turner. An exploration of music in different contexts has lead to them playing George Crumb's renowned electronic masterpiece "Black Angels" in Ronnie Scott's jazz club and performances of Shostakovich in Soho bars. Recently the Elysian Quartet premiered its commission of electro-acoustic composer and DJ Gabriel Prokofiev's String Quartet No.1."
