[...] " I prepared a surface of different materials on the studio flor, wood, glass, cloth, metal and plastic. Next I took a handful of bamboo sticks numbering around fifty and each of a differing thickness and length, say between eight and twelve centimetres. A pair of microphones were placed stereophonically just above and to each side of the surface of materials. [...] I recorded a series of drops each lasting roughly between twelve and twenty five seconds before the sticks came to rest. A selection of these drops were then looped so that the sound was continuous, the repetition disguised as a linear, changing flow of events, rather than a repeating cycle." [...].
