Après la mort tragique du chanteur de Minutemen, D. Boon, le bassiste Mike Watt et le batteur George Hurley ont formé fIREHOSE.Dans la lignée de Minutemen, fIREHOSE a écrit des chansons incisives et très efficaces.Les titres étaient plus structurés et traditionnels que ceux des Minutemen. Même s'ils ont fini par acquérir une plus grande notoriété que les Minutemen, fIREHOSE a splitté au début de l'année 1994. Cette anthologie comprend deux albums sortis sur Columbia, un EP et pas mal de raretés.
