The origin of these stations is in dispute. Their purpose is unclear. There are many dozens of different signal types on the air, each run by different organizations. Some of these organizations should have been closed down after the "end of the cold war", yet they continue to transmit like clockwork. No one has ever compiled a set of Numbers Stations recordings for sale to the public. Until now"."
