Depuis sa création à Dublin en 1742, le Messie (Messiah) d'Haendel n'a cessé de faire courir les foules. Que d'airs à succès, à commencer par le choeur Hallelujah venant clore sur une note brillante la deuxième partie de l'oratorio. Mais qu'on ne s'y trompe pas, cette oeuvre est un chef d'oeuvre tant sur le plan musical que sur sa portée humaine. Toutes les émotions d'une vie affleurent dans le Messie, quelle que soit l'appartenance confessionnelle. Sous la direction de Peter Dijkstra, la soprano Julia Doyle, le contre-ténor Lawrence Zazzo, le tenor Steve Davislim et le baryton Neal Davies, the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks et le B'Rock - Belgian Baroque Orchestra Ghent livrent une lecture actuelle de ce monument artistique intemporel.
