Ces précieuses informations (qui articulent les morceaux) et la progression chronologique de la sélection (qui s'étend de 1921 à 1959) donnent un large aperçu du contexte musical de l'époque (14CD pour plus de 16h d'écoute) et permettent de mieux comprendre les débuts de Sun Ra et les prémices de l'Arkestra.
