Voici le premier volet d'une biographie audio de SUN RA. Se déroulant à la façon d'une émission radiophonique la sélection mêle morceaux qui ont influencés Sun Ra, morceaux de Sun Ra et interviews. Le tout est entrecoupé de commentaires et présentations éclairantes de Michael D. Anderson (homme de radio et proche de Sun Ra devenu aujourd'hui responsable des archives audio de Sun Ra). Ces précieuses informations (qui articulent les morceaux) et la progression chronologique de la sélection (qui s'étend de 1921 à 1959) donnent un large aperçu du contexte musical de l'époque (14CD pour plus de 16h d'écoute) et permettent de mieux comprendre les débuts de Sun Ra et les prémices de l'Arkestra.
