Live. About Psalm 122: The songs of Degrees are three groups of three Psalms each depicting the movement (1) from a place of exile (2) along the road (3) to Jerusalem. These songs may well have functioned as "songs of pilgrimage" at the three big feasts which involved people going up to the temple. Psalm 122 is the third, or arrival, song in the first group.
