ANTHOLOGIES GENERALES THÉMATIQUES

Sélection de morceaux autour de la thématique du train. Les titres compilés se focalisent pour 90% de ce coffret (10CD) essentiellement sur la fin des années 50 dans un style plutôt western swing, country, voire parfois rockabilly. La sélection reprend quelques classiques dont le "Pan American" de Hank Williams et d'autres morceaux moins connus. Il est à déplorer qu'aucunes informations complémentaires n'accompagnent cette sélection. L'intérêt réside dans le fait que l'ensemble des morceaux suggèrent la course métronomique des locomotives à vapeur à travers des plages au swing effréné mais aussi quelques ballades plus calmes abordant le thème dans les paroles des chansons. Le train est fortement ancré dans le blues, lié à l'exode des afro-américain des états du sud vers le nord. Au vue de la thématique choisie il est étonnant que la sélection de ce coffret couvre principalement "l'expression blanche" du sujet.(BB)
